Background: Armitage Gone! Dance is a hugely
acclaimed dance joy ride; Karole Armitage is the main woman
behind this terrific dance group. Its all started when, Ms.
Armitage, left George Balanchine's famous Geneva Ballet in
1976 and ultimately joined the other popular group known as
Merce Cunningham Dance Company. Then comes the other dramatic
moment in her life, in 1980, Ms. Armitage daringly founded
Armitage Gone! Dance; better described as her dream and her
own special dance company. From that day onwards this amazing
lady has been consistently pursuing her own breathtaking dance
forms. Her superb dance forms comprises a defined combination
of Yoga, ballet, tough improve and vogueing and traditional
Bharatnatyam or the famous Indian dance style. This tremendous
lady also takes some notable inspiration from the famous South
Central Los Angeles street creative dance forms known as twisting,
Krum ping and calligraphy. Ms. Armitage has also won the tremendous
acclaim for her unique concoction of punk-rock culture that
was very popular in the 80's with balanced modern dance and
ballet styles.
