"As You like it" is a hugely popular play written by William Shakespeare. This popular comedy was written by him around 1599-1600 A.D. This tremendous show is one of his most popular plays; and it has been performed very frequently throughout the whole world. The perfect setting of the play takes the audience to duchy in France. Shakespeare has very well used some very good pastoral settings like the famous "Forest of Arden" in this popular play.

The play starts as the honest Duke has been treacherously dethroned by his own younger brother Fredrick. Now, Rosalind the beautiful daughter of Duke has been intentionally allowed to stay in the court because she is a very close friend of Fredrick's beloved daughter, Celia. There is Orlando, who is a beautiful young gentleman and he eventually falls in love with Rosalind when first time he sees her; but Orlando is forced to flee from his own home after being dishonestly persecuted by his vicious older brother Oliver. Rosalind is also banished from the famous court by the duke Fredrick. With this incident, Celia and Rosalind firmly decide to flee together; both are accompanied by the hilarious clown Touchstone; followed by the most interesting and confusion rising part as Rosalind disguised herself as a beautiful young man and then calls herself Ganymede. Her sister Celia calls herself Aliena. Now both arrive in the famous Forest of Arden.

The same Forest is also the destined home to the innocent and exiled Duke who now lives here peacefully with a very few supporters. These supports are later on joined by Jacques.
Orlando rescues his brother from a lioness. This incident brought the dramatic change in Oliver and he repents over his past mistakes. At last like any other famous Shakespearean drama all the characters come together and happily accept each other followed by some marriages. The show is a classic piece of theatrical art with some hilarious moments and witty dialogues.
