and Stories of Sammy Cahn is a richly entertaining show
not to be missed!. Cahn made a memorable appeareance
in the Broadway presentation in 1974. with his demise
in 1993, many would have thought that they would never
get to see another show. but this hugely popular show
returns and continues to entertain its fan.
The show is an anecdotally told story of a musically
gifted Jewish boy born in 1913. He took birth on New
York’s Lower East Side and became one of America’s
most successful lyricists. The stress does not remain
on detailed autobiography but on delivering some good
stories about Cahn’s writing. These writings were
like that of composers Jule Styne, Saul Chaplin, Jimmy
Van Heusen, Gene DePaul and Nicholas Brodsky for singers
such as Frank Sinatra, Doris Day and Mario Lanza.
