Background: Wonderful Town is based on Ruth
Sherwood's autobiographical book My Sister Eileen, which tells
the story of how these two young women from Ohio came to Greenwich
Village at the height of the Great Depression, determined
to take the big city by storm. They find romance and careers,
against the colorful backdrop of '30s bohemian society. Songs
include "Ohio," "100 Ways to Lose a Man,"
and "Wrong Note Rag."
The highly anticipated revival of the 1953 musical, with music
by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph
Green, is based on the Encores! production from May 2000.

1953 musical. Donna Murphy and Jennifer Westfeldt star as
two Ohio sisters who move to New York City.
Originally written as a vehicle for Rosalind Russell, the
show is now home to Tony-winner Donna Murphy, a strong supporting
cast, a 24-piece onstage orchestra, and a few artful touches
of scenery which all combine to effervescent effect.
